Higher Education Language Carnival (HELCA) 2026 marks the continuation of the Higher Education English Language Carnival (HE ELCa), which previously focused primarily on the English language.

In response to evolving global needs, HELCA 2026 has expanded its scope to include a diverse range of international and regional languages, celebrating linguistic diversity and strengthening global communication.

Hosted by Universiti Malaya, HELCA 2026 will be held in conjunction with UM Global Connect from 22 to 23 October 2026, creating a platform that brings together language enthusiasts, educators, students, and international participants through engaging language and cultural activities.

Aligned with UM’s 121st anniversary (UM121), themed "Global Thought Leaders, Brain of the Nation", HELCA 2026 reflects Universiti Malaya’s commitment as a leading global institution in promoting multilingualism, intercultural understanding, and international engagement.
